Volvo Car Americas region reports 133,828 retail sales for 2019, an increase of 10 percent. The growth is a result of strong showings from US, Canada and Latin America.
“Achieving double digit growth across the Americas region is something we are very proud of,” said Anders Gustafsson, Senior Vice President, Americas & President and CEO of Volvo Car USA. “Not only does it reflect the dedication and hard work of our employees and retail partners, but it also underlines the strength and importance of the Americas region.”
In the US, sales were up just over 10 percent compared to 2018 with 108,234 cars sold. This strong result reflects twelve consecutive months of year-over-year growth for the brand in the US and marks the best full year result for Volvo Car USA since 2007.
Also experiencing double digit growth, Volvo Cars Canada sold 10,155 cars in 2019, for a total year-over-growth of 10 percent as well.
Latin America showed a similar result with 15,439 cars sold amounting to a nearly 10 percent increase over 2018. This result is thanks to strength in both Brazil and Mexico which posted 2019 sales of 8,010 and 2,391 cars sold – a growth of nearly 17- and just over 23- percent, respectively. Latin America Importers saw a decrease of a little over four percent with 5,038 cars sold.
