Vauxhall doubles up at company Car & Van awards

Vauxhall has earned yet another pair of awards for its class-leading commercial vehicle range at the Company Car & Van Awards 2020.

Not only did the popular Combo Cargo win Small Van of the Year for the second year running, but the all-new Vivaro also won a prestigious award, earning the title of Medium Van of the Year.

Commenting on the Combo Cargo, Andrew Walker, Editor of Company Car & Van, said: “Vauxhall’s small van won this award last year and has deservedly retained the trophy. Low emissions, good fuel economy, a host of practical touches and a modern, connected cab will make any van driver smile.”

As for the Vivaro, Walker added: “Kudos to Vauxhall. The new Vivaro offers up to a 19% greater payload, 25% better towing capacity, a 28% improvement on fuel economy and 19% better CO2 emissions than the previous model. We now have a UK-built van that matches the best in sector, and one that will give competitor models a run for their money.”

The Combo Cargo is based on an all-new architecture and is offered in a selection of variants, including short wheelbase, long wheelbase and crew van. In crew van body style, up to five occupants can be accommodated, while the load is safely stowed behind a partition wall. In addition, the rear bench can be folded down and the partition moved behind the front seats, if required. The Combo Cargo is also clean and cheap to run with low CO2 emissions from 109g/km and fuel economy up to 67.3mpg.

The all-new Vivaro van, in showrooms now, is a based on a state-of-the-art platform and available in two lengths (L1H1 4.95m and L2H1 5.30m). Body styles include panel van, double cab for up to six occupants and a platform chassis. This year, Vauxhall is set to launch the Vivaro-e – a pure battery-electric version of the van and a key part of the brand’s powerful electrification strategy.
