Hyundai Kona, Kona Electric and Santa Fe Win 2020 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards

Hyundai’s 2020 Kona, 2020 Kona Electric and 2020 Santa Fe earned Best Buy Awards from the experts at Kelley Blue Book for the categories of Best Subcompact SUV, Best Electric Car and Best Midsize SUV – 2-Row.

Best Buy Awards go to the best vehicles in 17 categories following weeks of expert evaluation and testing by KBB.com experts, along with analysis of a broad range of vehicle-related data, including vehicle pricing, 5-Year Cost-to Own data, consumer reviews and ratings, and vehicle sales/retail sales information.

Kona employs refined aesthetics with sculpted body forms and sporty contours for an athletic, bold, and striking exterior appearance that is complemented by the vehicle’s sleek and simple interior layout. Two gasoline powertrains are offered on the Kona: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Atkinson engine that produces 147 horsepower that is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and a Gamma 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 175 horsepower that is coupled to a seven-speed EcoShift® dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The Kona also offers optional Smart Cruise Control and standard SmartSense safety technologies that include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Warning that add additional protection for drivers and passengers.

Kona Electric is Hyundai’s first compact electric crossover for the U.S. market, and was designed for consumers with active, eco-focused lifestyles of all kinds. It achieves a generous 258-mile EPA-estimated range via a high-efficiency 150 kW electric motor that produces 201 horsepower and a high-voltage 64kWh lithium ion battery. DC fast-charging capability is standard on the Kona Electric, and for charging convenience, the charging port is integrated in the front grille area that is further complimented by the vehicle’s voluminous exterior styling features, aggressive body styling and wide stance.

Santa Fe is Hyundai’s best-selling SUV in the brand’s history in America. Its exterior design is highlighted by Hyundai’s signature Cascading Grille and characterized by athletic body lines and a powerful posture. On the interior, the Santa Fe’s design combines premium quality with a roomy layout that is loaded with technology, including Hyundai’s latest AVN 5.0 navigation system with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ offered with higher level trims.

The Santa Fe also has Hyundai’s optional HTRAC® All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system and a suite of optional Smart Sense Technologies, including Blind-View Monitor and Rear Occupant Alert systems that aid in keeping drivers and passengers safe.
