Honda and Acura electric vehicle (EV) owners will soon enjoy expanded charging options with access to Tesla Superchargers across the United States. Starting in June 2025, owners of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX will be able to use more than 20,000 selected Tesla Superchargers with the first Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter.

A Game-Changer for Honda and Acura EV Drivers

The Honda-approved adapter ensures a safe and reliable charging experience, having been rigorously tested for compatibility and performance with the Prologue and ZDX. This adapter is the only DC fast-charging adapter approved by Honda for use at NACS charging points.

“Adding Tesla Supercharger network access to the charging networks already available to our EV customers means industry-leading fast-charging access for Honda and Acura EV drivers,” said Ryan Harty, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability & Business Development at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “By the end of this decade, we strive to provide Honda and Acura EV drivers with the most convenient and easy charging at more than 100,000 charge points nationwide, helping people choose to purchase an EV for the many benefits of driving one.”

How to Get the Adapter

Starting in June 2025, customers can purchase the Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter from authorized Honda and Acura dealerships in the United States. Pricing will be announced closer to the market introduction.

Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX owners will be notified via the HondaLink® and Acura EV apps when adapters are available for purchase. These apps will also help drivers locate authorized Tesla Supercharger locations.

Ensuring Safety and Reliability

To ensure a safe and reliable charging experience, Tesla requires the use of approved adapters at Supercharger stations. Honda strongly recommends using only the Honda-approved adapter, as damage caused by unapproved adapters may not be covered under the vehicles’ limited warranties.

Honda’s Charging Vision

By 2030, Honda and Acura EV owners will have access to approximately 100,000 DC fast-charge points across North America, including:

  • The Tesla Supercharger network.
  • The all-new IONNA DC fast-charging network.
  • Existing networks like EVgo and Electrify America.

This initiative is part of Honda’s broader commitment to making EV ownership more convenient and accessible, supporting the transition to sustainable mobility.
