ALFA ROMEO STELVIO QUADRIFOGLIO WINS ‘PERFORMANCE SUV’ CLASS AT 4X4 MAGAZINE AWARDS 2020

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has been lauded in the Performance SUV class at the 4×4 magazine awards 2020.

The expert team of judges at 4×4 magazine praised the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the most powerful Alfa Romeo SUV ever created for road use, for its combination of on-road driving dynamics, characterful V6 engine and practicality which together never failed to put a smile on their faces.

Alan Kidd, 4×4 magazine editor, commented: “There are so many performance SUVs out there now, and so many of them are very good – or at least, very fast. But we’ve not found anything to match the Stelvio Quadrifoglio for sheer entertainment.

“The rest of the Stelvio range is excellent, too, but the Quadrifoglio is something very special indeed. It’s not just about having a 510bhp twin-turbo V6 howling away (though that helps) – dynamically, this vehicle does things no other SUV we’ve driven has been able to match. When you put it into Race mode, it becomes an absolute livewire – yet it’s still entirely predictable and easy to control. Unlike so many high-powered 4x4s, it doesn’t feel heavy.

“Somehow, the Quadrifoglio still manages to be a viable five-seater with the ability to swallow a huge load of cargo, too. You only need to look at it, though – or feel the tingles going up and down your spine when that exhaust note blares out – to know you’re in the presence of a 4×4 that’s so much more than just a practical family car.”

Combining 50:50 weight distribution with all-wheel drive architecture, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is powered by a 510hp, 2.9-litre Bi-Turbo V6 petrol engine, which allows it to achieve a top speed of 176mph and go from zero to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio features advanced technology designed to maximise dynamic performance, including as the Alfa Chassis Domain Control system, the AlfaTM D.N.A. Pro selector with Race mode and four wheel drive combined with AlfaTM active torque vectoring.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is available to order now in UK, priced from £70,900 OTR.
