Honda unveiled that the majority of its brand-new 2024 Honda Prologue models, the company’s inaugural all-electric SUV, will be eligible for the $7,500 EV tax credit in the U.S. This federal tax incentive is applicable to all 2024 Prologue vehicles manufactured post-February 26, 2024, and applies to both purchases and leases of the model.
Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co., Inc., expressed excitement about the Prologue’s eligibility for the tax credit, highlighting its appeal to consumers with its stylish, sporty design and competitive pricing. The Prologue, expected to arrive at Honda dealerships soon, boasts a 296-mile range according to EPA estimates and offers comprehensive charging solutions to reassure prospective EV owners.

The Prologue, designed for dynamic yet comfortable driving experiences, is built on an advanced electric platform featuring multi-link suspension systems fine-tuned for an engaging ride and superior refinement. The two-wheel drive variants come equipped with a front-mounted single motor, offering smooth acceleration and efficiency with 212 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque. The Prologue Elite variant introduces standard all-wheel drive (also optional on EX and Touring models), incorporating an additional rear motor to produce 288 horsepower and 333 lb.-ft. of torque for brisk acceleration.
Every Prologue model includes Honda Sensing® safety and driver-assistance technologies and boasts features like 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a wireless phone charger, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control, among others.

Charging the Prologue is made easy with DC fast charging capabilities up to 150 kW, allowing for a quick recharge of 65 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes. Honda offers Prologue owners comprehensive charging solutions, including access to the largest public fast-charging networks in the U.S. and three charging packages as part of the purchase or lease, catering to different customer needs and preferences. Honda is the first carmaker to provide its U.S. customers with credits across multiple charging networks.
These charging options range from public charging credits with EVgo and partner networks to credits towards a Level 2 Home Charging Station and installation. Prologue owners can also take advantage of 60 kWh of complimentary public charging from Electrify America, included with every charging package. The HondaLink® Smartphone App further enhances the charging experience, offering features like station location, payment processing, credit redemption, and access to subscription plans at EVgo, Electrify America, and their partner stations.
